Dry Hill Trail Spotlight: Yo Mama
Yo Momma is a classic, intermediate level singletrack downhill primary trail on Dry Hill. It offers a fun, slightly technical ride perfect for a longer outing. It is excellent for intermediate riders, or more physically fit beginners that don't mind a big climb and a bit of a challenge on the decent. Here’s how to access it and what to expect on the trail.
Accessing Yo Mama
There are two primary routes to reach the trailhead for Yo Mama, catering to different climbing preferences.
1. The Quickest Climb (Fire Road)
This is the most direct and fastest route, ideal if you are focused on saving time or riding an e-bike.
Route: From the front gate, take the main fire road up to the podium area, and then continue climbing the fire road to the left.
The Climb: Expect a long, sustained climb with some sections that are brutally steep. The road is well-maintained with no major technical obstacles.
Final Approach: Near the top of Dry Hill, take the left fork in the road. The trailhead for Yo Momma will be on your left almost immediately after the fork.
2. The Most Fun Climb (Singletrack)
If you prefer a more engaging, slightly longer, and technical climb, this route is for you.
Route: Ride the entire Uproot climbing trail from the bottom gate until it ends at the fire road near the top of Dry Hill.
At The Top of Upper-Uproot: Turn right onto the fire road and climb for a short distance.
Final Approach: Take the first left at the fork. The trailhead for Yo Momma will be on your left shortly after turning.
Yo Mama Trail Breakdown
Yo Mama is a true Blue (Intermediate) singletrack with an old-school feel. It is a solid intermediate challenge without being overly difficult.
| Feature | Description |
| Difficulty: |
Solid Blue (Intermediate)
|
| Terrain: |
Classic singletrack; mix of flatter, side-knob engaging corners and small supportive berms.
|
| Steepness: |
The gradient is never too steep. Good for Intermediates.
|
| Mandatory Features: |
None. No mandatory drops or gap jumps. All airtime is voluntary.
|
| Style: |
Old School / Pedaly. This trail requires more rider input and pedaling to maintain speed. Most of the corners are flat or have smaller berms. Riders who prefer trails where gravity does more of the work and/or bigger berms in corners might prefer White Knuckly or Wayne's World.
|
| Highlights: |
Fun opportunities for creative lines, small side hits, and bump-jumps. A rewarding challenge is using the micro berms to maximize speed.

The Start
The trail begins with a short, shaded, and mellow climb (about 1.5 minutes) before forking.
Go Right at the fork to start the Yo Momma descent. (The left fork is for the Stanky Leg trail).
The Finish
Near the end of the trail, you have two options:
Red Bull Rampage Pit: Duck out early into this pit area to test yourself on various drop and rock roll features. The name is a bit humorous. But there are some neat features to try out.
Trail End: Continue to the end of the trail at the road.
Next Trail Recommendation: Directly across the road from the end of Yo Momma is the start of Brazilian, a highly recommended trail to continue your descent!
In Summary
Yo Momma is a fun, old-school singletrack that's worth the extra pedaling to include in a longer ride from the upper portion of Dry Hill.
