Twentyeight years ago with the flagship Solstice model, Current Designs took the kayak world by storm. They blended the styles of North American and British kayaks and used superior composite technology in the construction of their kayaks. Vacuum-bagged composite lamination is the technology that Current Designs chose over twenty years ago for its superior properties. Originally developed by the aerospace industry to manufacture ultra-light, superbly strong components, Current Designs has been refining that same process ever since to deliver the lightest, strongest, and most durable kayaks available.
To continue their innovative pattern, Current Designs teamed with British kayaker Derek Hutchinson to produce such great kayaks as the Gulfstream, Slipstream, and Andromeda. New England-based kayak designer Barry Buchanan partnered with Current Designs to manufacture his famous hard chined kayak, the Caribou. Most recently Nigel Foster and Current Designs brought the Rumor to the worlds waters.
As a leading builder of premium kayaks, Current Designs creates a mix of form and function that results in unequaled grace and performance.
Delta Kayaks was born from an idea and the dream of Mark Hall. Mark has been in the kayaking industry for 30 years and felt he could offer kayaks of a style and quality that was heretofore unavailable. He did.
Delta kayaks are built from thermoformed, high impact, light weight plastics. Our boats offer superior weather and UV resistance while maintaining excellent abrasion resistance and a high-gloss finish. Delta has specific stiffeners in the hull design which keep the hull shape perfect and allows the kayak to perform without the usual thermoform difficulties.
With kayaks ranging from 12' 10" to 19’ 6" and a range of specific purposes, everyone from a novice to an experienced paddler are guaranteed a kayak that will put a smile on the face.
Fifty years ago, Hobie was started with surf boards in the garage. This led to the Hobie Cat sailing vessel and the incredible Hobie Mirage Drive Pedal Kayaks. I quote: "The World Is A Water Park, And Since 1950 We've Made The Best Rides. We've surfed. We've sailed. And to each sport, we've brought flat-out, live-fast, have-fun, adventure."
To operate you pedal by stepping alternately left and right, not unlike an exercise stepper, to drive two underwater flippers. They work much like a penguin's fins to propel the Hobie Mirage with surprising speed and ease. The beauty of the Hobie system is the amazing option package you can have. These kayaks pedal, paddle, or have sail options.
New to the Hobie lineup is the Mirage Angler. For the fishing enthusiast, this is a little slice of heaven. The hull design offers a stability and performance matched by none. With the fishing attachments and pedal system there is no fish too big!

After enjoying the benefits of lightweight, well-designed racing equipment, it was a shock to Greg Barton and Oscar Chalupski the first time they paddled with heavy, unrefined touring kayaks and paddles. "Why can't modern technology be used to build better touring equipment?", they thought. Having paddled the equivalent of six times around the world with 70 years combined experience in all water conditions, they knew what was needed in the kayaking world. Greg and Oscar’s passion for paddling and knowledge of high-performance racing technology is contained in every Epic-designed kayak and paddle. The models are optimized for ease of handling, efficiency in the water, and to be extremely lightweight. Whether you're a beginning recreational paddler or a highly competitive racer, Epic equipment will improve your paddling experience.
